Biography

Born in 1965 and brought up in Glasgow.  From a very early age I was always interested in art and obtained an Ordinary Grade and a Higher Grade in Art and Design whilst at School.  Continued Further Education by studying Art by attending Classes at the Glasgow School of Art and private tuition by Lecturers of the Glasgow School of Art and Cardonald College.

Exhibited at Art Works Gallery, Adelaides, Retail Trust and St. John Ambulance Exhibitions.  Also profitable success with a solo exhibition held at Pollok House, in Glasgow.  Every exhibition I have had the pleasure of being associated with I have been rewarded with sales of my art work.  Also been commissioned following on from some of the exhibitions.

I love to explore different painting techniques and styles, working with brushes, palette knives and fingers.  I am inspired by nature, things around me and the media.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my website as much as I have enjoyed painting these images.

Testimonials

“I asked Lorna to paint a picture of an area of Cornwall as a birthday present, it was done to an exceptional standard and very well received.  The dedication and enjoyment was evident in the picture and it was better than I could have imagined.  I would highly recommend Lorna to anyone who would like a picture commissioned and will most definitely be asking for more work in the future.”

Lindsay Leslie - "View of Devon"

“Lorna’s painting was beautiful and far surpassed my expectations.  The texture and colours used were fantastic and you can tell a lot of time and care was put in to the finished product.  I highly recommend Lorna for any commissioned art work you may be considering.”

Sarah Mone - "View from Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge"
